International Plein Air Painters is a blanket organization created for the sole purpose of advancing the execution and enjoyment of plein air painting without the restrictions and limitations of borders or regions. Membership is restricted to plein air painters, those serious to learn about plein air painting and those who wish to be benefactors advancing the plein air movement. OIL PAINTERS OF AMERICA
Oil Painters of America (OPA) is a not-for-profit organization representing more than 3,200 artists throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. Founded in 1991,OPA is dedicated to preserving and promoting excellence in representational art. Its primary focus is to draw attention to the lasting value of fine drawing, color, composition and the appreciation of light.
This rustic retreat overlooks Piseco Lake in the southern Adirondacks. With its 600 acres, it is a sanctuary for vacationers who value peace and quiet. It provides me with beautiful diverse terrain and inspirational views to paint in a peaceful, welcoming environment.

Olana was the home of Frederic Edwin Church (1826-1900), one of America's most important artists, a student of Thomas Cole, and a major figure in the Hudson River School of landscape painting. This location has inspiring vistas and hillsides for plein air painting.
